Wolverhampton Wanderers are eyeing an ambitious summer move for Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker, according to journalist Graeme Bailey, speaking to Molineux News. The club reportedly sees the England international as a potential replacement for Nelson Semedo, viewing him as an appealing option in the market.
Walker, 35, is expected to leave Manchester City this summer after spending the last season on loan at AC Milan, where he made 16 appearances. With only one year left on his contract — reportedly worth £180,000 per week — he is attracting strong interest from several Premier League clubs, including Everton, who are currently in talks to sign him.
Bailey said:
> “Wolves are just aware of the situation; it’s not like they’re in talks or that anything has gone far, but I’m told he is someone they have considered. If he wants to stay in England, Wolves might be an option for him.”
In addition to Everton, Turkish side Fenerbahce are also monitoring Walker’s situation at Manchester City. However, his future at the Etihad appears uncertain following his return from Italy.
Meanwhile, Wolves are closing in on their first signing of the summer. The club has reportedly reached an agreement with Celta Vigo for the transfer of winger Fer Lopez. The 21-year-old is believed to have undergone a medical at Molineux on Wednesday ahead of a £19 million move. He is expected to replace Matheus Cunha, who recently joined Manchester United.
