Jared Goff Cracks NFL’s Top 7 QBs, But 2025 Will Test His Playoff Mettle

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has officially cemented himself among the NFL’s top quarterbacks heading into the 2025 season.

After a shaky first year in Detroit back in 2021, Goff has completely turned things around, returning to the form that once took him and the Rams to a Super Bowl. Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon recently ranked Goff seventh among all NFL quarterbacks, pointing out his impressive 2024 stats — including a league-best 72.4% completion rate in the NFC and an eye-popping 128.9 passer rating on third downs.

Still, there’s pressure on Goff to perform in the playoffs. His three-interception showing in last season’s tough loss to Washington raised concerns, and his career playoff passer rating of 85.1 suggests there’s room to grow when the stakes are highest.

The Lions believe Goff can take them even further, but 2025 could be the season that defines his legacy in Detroit. He’s already shown he belongs in the conversation with the league’s best — now it’s about delivering when it matters most.
