The New York Giants kicked off rookie minicamp with a serious show of size, and their top draft pick Abdul Carter was at the center of it. The 6-foot-3, 251-pound edge rusher out of Penn State, who was taken No. 3 overall, looked every bit the part of a dominant NFL defender.
Carter, the reigning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a Unanimous All-American, piled up 24 tackles for loss and 12 sacks in his junior year. He’s expected to be a cornerstone of the Giants’ defense moving forward.
Also turning heads was fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo, a 5-foot-11, 216-pound running back out of Arizona State. Skattebo led the Big 12 in rushing last season with 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns. But when the two appeared side-by-side during minicamp, fans couldn’t help but notice the massive size difference—prompting one viral post comparing Skattebo to a child next to the towering Carter.
Still, both rookies bring elite production and toughness to a Giants team looking to take the next step in 2025.
