Alabama football just scored another major win on the recruiting trail—this time landing one of the most versatile and dynamic prospects in the 2025 class. Top-30 national recruit Cameron Griffin, a highly touted athlete out of Texas, has officially committed to the Crimson Tide, giving head coach Kalen DeBoer another cornerstone in an already star-studded class.
Griffin, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound do-it-all playmaker, announced his decision on Saturday afternoon during a live commitment ceremony at his high school, choosing Alabama over finalists Oregon, LSU, and Texas A&M.
> “Alabama felt like the perfect fit for me—on and off the field,” Griffin said. “The tradition, the coaching staff, and the chance to compete for championships made the decision easy.”
Ranked No. 27 overall in the 247Sports Composite and No. 4 at his position, Griffin is widely regarded as a high-impact player who could contribute immediately at either wide receiver or defensive back—though Alabama has recruited him primarily for the secondary.
Secondary coach Travaris Robinson played a key role in Griffin’s recruitment, building a strong relationship with the Texas native and selling him on Alabama’s track record of developing elite defensive backs.
> “Coach T-Rob kept it real from day one,” Griffin said. “He told me exactly what they expect and how they’ll help me become an NFL-caliber player.”
Griffin’s junior year numbers were staggering: 53 tackles, 5 interceptions, 12 pass breakups, and 6 touchdowns on offense. His explosive athleticism and football instincts have made him one of the most coveted recruits in the country—and a fan favorite on social media.
His commitment boosts Alabama’s 2025 class to No. 2 nationally, just behind Ohio State, and gives the Tide another future star in a class filled with top-tier talent on both sides of the ball.
Recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong called Griffin’s decision “a major momentum move.”
> “He’s the kind of player who can shift games,” Wiltfong said. “He has five-star traits and will be a difference-maker in Tuscaloosa.”
With Griffin now on board, Alabama continues to reload rather than rebuild, maintaining its position as a national powerhouse in both recruiting and development. And with more top targets expected to announce in the coming weeks, the Tide’s roll shows no sign of slowing down.
“Bama just feels like home,” Griffin said. “And now it is.”
