Aidan Hutchinson Disrespected Again in ESPN Rankings—Lions Fans Take Note

ESPN dropped its latest pass rusher rankings, and somehow, Hutchinson came in at No. 7. Yes—seventh. That’s despite the fact that when he was on the field last season, he was on pace to destroy offensive lines and possibly snatch Defensive Player of the Year honors.

In just five games before breaking his leg, Hutchinson led the entire NFL in sacks, pressures, and pass-rush win rate. His 7.5 sacks in that short stretch were the most by a Lions defender through five games since 1982. His win rate? A ridiculous 35.0%. For comparison, the next closest—Danielle Hunter—was nine full percentage points behind.

Executives admit the Lions star was on track to be right up there with Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt. Yet, despite all that, he’s sitting at seventh on ESPN’s list, based on anonymous votes from league scouts, execs, and coaches.

And honestly? That might be the perfect fuel for Detroit’s fire this season.

The Lions have officially entered their “Nobody Believes in Us” era—and Hutchinson is leading the charge. This ranking isn’t the end of the world, but it’s just enough to give Dan Campbell’s crew something to chew on as training camp heats up.

Let them sleep. September is coming.
