The Detroit Lions have rolled out their first unofficial depth chart of the 2025 season, just ahead of their preseason opener on Thursday against the Los Angeles Chargers. While this early version comes from the team’s football communications department — not the coaching staff — it still offers a valuable glimpse into how things are shaping up heading into game action.
Head coach Dan Campbell recently shared that he’s gaining a clearer picture of what the starting offensive line will look like. So far, the depth chart shows veteran Graham Glasgow anchoring the line at center, while rookie Tate Ratledge holds down the right guard spot — the same position where he thrived during his college days at Georgia.
On the defensive side, Mitchell Agude has made an early impact, listed as the primary backup at defensive end. He currently sits ahead of Ahmed Hassanein and Al-Quadin Muhammad on the chart.
Dan Skipper, who’s had a tough assignment all camp going against standout Aidan Hutchinson, is slotted as the backup left tackle. He’s ahead of Giovanni Manu in that role.
In the secondary, safety continues to be one of the most competitive and hard-fought positions. Returning player Morice Norris is locked in a battle for a roster spot. He’s competing with several others — Dan Jackson, Avonte Maddox, Loren Strickland, Erick Hallett, and Ian Kennelly — as they all fight for a place on the 53-man roster.
Coach Campbell also weighed in on the growth of one of his young defenders.
“He’s a year older, he’s another year developed,” Campbell said. “We don’t have to worry about the aggressiveness in his style of play. It’s more now when the bullets are flying — are you so aggressive that you’re not doing your job?”
He added, “It’s just staying focused enough to where you reduce the aggressiveness so that you can stay focused on your job at hand. That’s the next step for him.”
With the preseason about to kick off, the depth chart is bound to shift — but for now, it’s giving fans a first real look at where the Lions stand.
