Detroit Lions Week 6 Injury Report: 4 Out, 6 Questionable vs. Chiefs

The Detroit Lions are preparing for Sunday night’s primetime showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs, but they’ll do so with plenty of uncertainty hanging over the roster. Head coach Dan Campbell’s squad is still battling through a wave of injuries, and the latest official report highlights just how banged up this team is.

According to Friday’s update, four players have been ruled out, while six more are listed as questionable for the Week 6 matchup at Arrowhead Stadium.

Out for Week 6

The Lions will officially be without:

Terrion Arnold (shoulder)

Zach Cunningham (hamstring)

Alim McNeill (knee)

Sione Vaki (groin)

It’s not surprising to see Arnold, Cunningham, and Vaki ruled out again, as all three have been sidelined recently. However, fans were hoping this might finally be the week Alim McNeill made his long-awaited return. It appears they’ll have to wait at least another week for that to happen.

Questionable Players

Six more names appear under the questionable tag, meaning several key game-time decisions loom for Sunday night:

Brian Branch (ankle)

Taylor Decker (shoulder)

Kerby Joseph (knee)

Avonte Maddox (hamstring)

Giovanni Manu (knee)

Kalif Raymond (neck)

Coach Dan Campbell said that Branch and Joseph are both “truly 50-50,” leaving open the possibility that Detroit’s secondary could be missing multiple starters against Patrick Mahomes. Meanwhile, Taylor Decker continues to push through what’s been described as a “lingering issue,” and both Maddox and Raymond were limited throughout practice this week.

The Bigger Picture

If Branch and Joseph can’t suit up, the Lions could be without four defensive starters in the secondary—far from ideal against one of the NFL’s most explosive passing attacks.

Detroit has done well to weather the injury storm so far, entering Week 6 with a 4-1 record. But this Sunday night clash in Kansas City could be the team’s toughest depth test yet.
