Lions Reshuffle the Deck: Maulet Signed, Summers Released, Two Promoted!

The Detroit Lions are making moves before their primetime showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — and this roster shake-up could make all the difference.

The team has officially signed veteran cornerback Arthur Maulet, a battle-tested defensive back known for his physical style and leadership in the secondary. Maulet, who’s spent time with the Steelers and Jets, brings the kind of toughness Dan Campbell loves in his defense.

In a corresponding move, the Lions released linebacker Ty Summers, clearing space for the new addition. Summers has been a reliable depth piece on special teams, but Detroit clearly wanted to reinforce the back end of their defense ahead of Monday night.

The front office didn’t stop there — the Lions also elevated two players from the practice squad, signaling that they’re gearing up for a full-force effort against Tampa Bay’s offense. With injuries piling up in the secondary, these adjustments could be the key to slowing down Baker Mayfield and his deep threats.

Campbell’s message is clear: this team isn’t standing still. The Lions are reloading, retooling, and ready to roar when the lights come on in Detroit.
