Jacoby Brissett made NFL history on Sunday, breaking a single-game completions record previously held by Jared Goff (and Drew Bledsoe). Playing for the Arizona Cardinals, Brissett completed 47 of 57 passes for 452 yards, setting a new mark for most completions in a regular-season game.
Although Arizona fell 41–22 to the San Francisco 49ers, Brissett’s performance stood out as a bright spot. In addition to setting the completions record, he threw for two touchdowns and logged his highest passing yardage in a single game.
Despite achieving a historic individual milestone, Brissett wasn’t celebrating afterwards. “Man, I’ll throw for three yards in a win right now,” he said, making it clear that personal achievements mean little without team success.
This isn’t the first time Brissett has made headlines for efficiency rather than volume. Earlier this season, he also lowered his career interception rate to just 1.3%, the lowest in NFL history.
Brissett’s record now surpasses Goff’s mark of 45 completions, which Goff previously tied with Bledsoe.
