Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell isn’t one to complain about officiating — but even he’s reached the point where something feels off. After weeks of watching Jared Goff’s receivers get grabbed, bumped, and outright dragged with almost no pass interference calls in Detroit’s favor, Campbell finally admitted he has no idea why the Lions don’t draw flags.
Campbell explained that the staff has reviewed the tape over and over, and the frustration is building. “We’re seeing the same things everyone else is seeing,” he said, noting that receivers like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams are battling through contact that somehow goes unnoticed. Detroit has one of the lowest PI rates in the entire league — a strange reality for a team known for aggressive route-runners and a high-volume passing attack.
While Campbell stopped short of accusing the league of bias, he made it clear that something doesn’t add up. Still, he emphasized that the Lions will keep pushing forward and controlling what they can: execution, discipline, and finishing drives. Detroit fans, however, are louder than ever — demanding answers for why their offense keeps getting ignored on plays that would have other teams living at first-and-goal.
