Week 12 Upgrade: Lions Welcome Back CB D.J. Reed After IR Stint

Big news out of Detroit: veteran cornerback D.J. Reed is officially back in the mix for the Lions. After suffering a hamstring injury in Week 4 and landing on injured reserve, Reed has now been activated and is preparing to suit up for this Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.

Reed opened his 21-day evaluation window after returning to practice and looked sharp, per reports.  In his own words, he feels “grateful” to be back on the field and is ready to make an impact: “I want to … turn up with my boys,” he said, emphasizing he could handle a full load if needed.

That’s huge for Detroit. With Reed returning, the Lions secondary gets a major boost just when they need it most. His leadership, physicality, and coverage skills were sorely missed, and getting him back could be a turning point for their defense.

Still, the “Questionable” tag isn’t gone yet — per CBS Sports, it’s not 100% locked in that he’ll play.  But the direction is clearly positive. If Reed plays, he’s not just a body on the field — he could be a game-changer.
