**Two Alabama Track and Field Athletes Honored for Community Service**
Two members of Alabama’s track and field team are being recognized for more than just their athletic talent—they’re being celebrated for the impact they’ve made off the field, too. The SEC just named Tristan Barr and Dylan Wood to its 2025 Community Service Teams.
Barr, a pole vaulter on the women’s team, racked up over 180 hours of community service. Most of that time was spent mentoring high school students as a Young Life leader at Tuscaloosa County High. She supported students by attending their events, delivering donuts every Friday, and creating space for spiritual growth and connection.
On the men’s side, distance runner Dylan Wood spent part of his winter break volunteering with Summa Health System back home in Akron, Ohio. He also joined Barr in helping out at Alabama’s annual Halloween Extravaganza—a fun event hosted by student-athletes for local families in the Tuscaloosa area.
Both athletes have gone above and beyond, showing that being part of the Crimson Tide means more than just winning titles—it’s about giving back, too.
