Legend Alerts: Rams Are Owning the West, According to NFL Great

Jerome Bettis Thinks the Rams Are the Real Kings of the NFC West

The NFC West has been a rollercoaster lately — three different teams have claimed the division crown in the past five years. The Rams snagged it in 2024, ending the 49ers’ little two-year run. But heading into 2025, the race is wide open again.

The Cardinals are trying to make a comeback (they haven’t won the West since 2015), and Vegas thinks the 49ers are just barely ahead of the Rams. But not everyone’s buying that.

NFL Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis isn’t having it. In a recent chat with DJ Siddiqi, he made it clear: he thinks the Rams are the top dogs in the NFC West this year.

“In their division, they are the favorites,” Bettis said. “The Niners will be good — but not great. The Rams have the edge.”

But Bettis didn’t stop there. He says the real threat for the Rams isn’t in the West — it’s the Eagles.

“They’re built to beat Philly,” he said. “If they can slow down that run game, they’ve got a shot.”

Quick rewind: last season, the Rams came pretty close to another Super Bowl run but got knocked out by — you guessed it — the Eagles, who went on to win it all. Bettis is betting big that this season, Sean McVay’s squad is ready to finish the job.

So yeah, don’t count the Rams out. According to The Bus, they might just be driving all the way back to the Super Bowl.
