Wild Three-Team Trade Sends Will Levis to Detroit Lions

The NFL offseason always sparks creative ideas, and one recent proposal has Detroit Lions fans buzzing. A blogger has floated a three-team trade that would send Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis to the Lions, giving Detroit what some believe could be a stronger backup option than Hendon Hooker.

The proposed deal involves the Lions, Titans, and Ravens:

Lions would receive: QB Will Levis and pass rusher Tavius Robinson.

Ravens would get: DT Keondre Coburn and Detroit’s 2026 fourth-round pick.

Titans would land: DE Al-Quadin Muhammad, a 2026 fifth-round pick from Detroit, and another 2026 fifth-rounder from Baltimore.

A to Z Sports, which outlined the trade idea, made it clear they don’t trust Hooker or Kyle Allen as Detroit’s current backup options, arguing Levis’ youth and potential under Lions quarterbacks coach Mark Brunell could make him a better fit.

“I don’t have any faith in Hendon Hooker or Kyle Allen right now,” the analyst wrote. “That could change, but there’s no reason to think Levis couldn’t be a better backup quarterback.”

Levis, 24, struggled as the Titans’ starter last season, finishing 2-10 while throwing for 2,091 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Titans head coach Brian Callahan has already challenged him to improve heading into training camp. Reflecting on his performance, Levis admitted he wasn’t in the right headspace.

“One thing I’ve learned the hard way is you can’t play your best football if you let other things affect your mindset,” Levis said. “The mind space I was in those 20 weeks was not me.”

While Hooker hasn’t done enough yet to lock down the Lions’ backup job, many question if Levis, given his rocky 2024 season, would truly be an upgrade.
